Avantasia: Tobias Sammet as 4-Meter-Statue in your town!

There is a really cool competition on the official page of Avantasia. You have to build a statue of Tobias Sammet on the square in your city, take a picture and send it to monument@tobiassammet.com.

The master of Opera Metal and Metal Opera offers his army of loyal fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance of winning something really cool! All you have to do is talk to the mayor of your home town or the city closest to you into putting up a stone monument in honor of Tobias Sammet on a public square. The monument has to be made from solid stone, have a minimum height of 4 meters (approx 13 foot), and it should be clear that the shown person is Tobias Sammet himself.

The reward for the best monument (as chosen by a jury at tobiassammet.com) will be the publication of the photo on one of the forthcoming DVDs and a poster, signed by members of Avantasia.

In my humble opinion the whole competition is just some kind o joke. Do you remember the Michael Jackson statue? There is one big difference. Michael Jackson bought the statue and didn’t force his fans to build it. Tobias will be probably disappointed after he finds out nobody is willing to build 4 meter high statue just to win a poster…
